GSIS names new trustee, honors outgoing member’s service

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has welcomed Rolando Toledo to its board of trustees, while commending outgoing trustee Beatriz Torno for her long-standing public service. This move supports the state pension fund’s goal to strengthen governance and improve services for members and retirees.

Toledo, a certified public accountant, previously served as acting secretary of the Department of Budget and Management. With nearly 40 years in public service, he has deep expertise in fiscal management, planning, and government reform. He holds advanced degrees in Development Economics and National Security Administration. GSIS president Wick Veloso expressed confidence that Toledo’s background will help advance the fund’s digital transformation, better member services, and long-term financial stability.

Meanwhile, GSIS thanked Beatriz Torno for her contributions during her tenure. A seasoned educator and former Department of Education regional director for Central Luzon, she brought valuable insight on education, labor, and inclusivity to board discussions. Veloso praised her wisdom and dedication, noting her positive impact on policies affecting pensioners and government workers.

With the leadership change, GSIS reaffirms its commitment to delivering reliable and accessible benefits and services nationwide.
