Prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene will increase nationwide this week, the Department of Energy (DOE) confirmed on Monday.
In a statement, the DOE said fuel firms may raise rates by up to P1.60 per liter for gasoline, P1.96 per liter for diesel, and P1.45 per liter for kerosene. As of press time, no company has formally announced the adjustments, which are expected to take effect Tuesday morning.
Last week, gasoline went up by P1.21 per liter and diesel by P2.82 per liter, while kerosene dropped by P2.21 per liter.
Based on DOE data covering May 19 to 25, fuel prices in the National Capital Region average P88.10 per liter for RON 91 gasoline, P82.70 per liter for diesel, and P112.40 per liter for kerosene.
The agency also reported the country’s overall fuel supply as of May 22 is enough for 44.82 days of consumption, slightly down from 45.33 days recorded on May 15.
Breakdown of supply levels as follows:
• Gasoline: 45.87 days (from 46.85 days)
• Diesel: 41.07 days (from 45.74 days)
• Kerosene: 138.93 days (from 152.12 days)
• Jet fuel: 66.41 days (up from 59.74 days)
• Fuel oil: 47.17 days (from 50.14 days)
• Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG): 41.49 days (up from 30.21 days)
