The government is stepping up its digital reform drive to make tax compliance faster, simpler, and less burdensome for the country’s biggest taxpayers, with the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) launching a centralized Taxpayer Portal for firms under the Large Taxpayers Service (LTS).
Unveiled on May 26 at the BIR National Office in Quezon City, the platform consolidates key taxpayer services into a single online system, allowing businesses to view registration details, monitor tax filings and payments, access account ledgers, and receive automated reminders in one place.
Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go said the portal aims to eliminate long-standing frustrations caused by fragmented systems and repetitive processes.
“Instead of going through separate platforms and scattered records, everything is now in one place,” Go said, adding that the initiative supports the Marcos administration’s push to streamline government transactions and remove unnecessary bureaucratic steps.
The digital platform is expected to ease administrative burdens for large corporations, which manage complex tax obligations and contribute a significant share of government revenues.
Officials said the system would also improve transparency, record management, and overall compliance monitoring.
BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said the portal forms part of the agency’s broader digital transformation program under the BIR DARES reform agenda. He noted that the pilot rollout for LTS taxpayers would help the bureau further refine the system alongside businesses with more advanced compliance requirements.
The Taxpayer Portal is the latest in a series of digital initiatives introduced by the BIR this year to improve efficiency, encourage voluntary compliance, and strengthen investor confidence in the Philippines’ tax administration system.
