Puregold Price Club, Inc. and GCash are expanding digital payment and financial management tools for sari-sari stores, a move aimed at accelerating financial inclusion and helping thousands of small retailers modernize their operations.
The partnership targets nano, micro, small, and medium enterprises (NMSMEs), many of which continue to rely on cash transactions despite the rapid growth of digital payments across the country.
Through the initiative, store owners will gain access to QRPH payments, card acceptance, transaction monitoring, and cash flow management tools designed to improve efficiency and support business growth.
The collaboration was showcased during the Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) Convention 2026, where merchants were introduced to solutions such as GCash PocketPay, which turns NFC-enabled Android smartphones into point-of-sale terminals, and GCash SoundPay, which provides real-time audio confirmation of completed transactions.
Ren-Ren Reyes, president and chief executive officer of G-Xchange Inc., said the partnership seeks to make digital payments and business solutions more accessible and practical for community-based entrepreneurs.
The initiative strengthens Puregold’s vast TNAP network by equipping sari-sari store operators with technology that can streamline transactions, improve record-keeping, and enhance customer service.
Puregold president Vincent Co said the program is designed to help members operate more efficiently while adapting to changing consumer payment preferences.
Beyond individual stores, the partnership also integrates digital payment and disbursement systems across Puregold’s retail ecosystem, creating a more connected supply chain between retailers, suppliers, and customers.
The initiative comes as digital finance providers and retailers intensify efforts to bring underserved small businesses into the formal financial system, a key step toward expanding financial inclusion and unlocking growth opportunities for grassroots enterprises nationwide.
