Jollibee Group on Wednesday said that food safety and quality remain non-negotiable priorities serving as the foundation for operational excellence, consumer trust, and sustainable expansion across more than 10,000 stores worldwide. Guided by a unified global Food, Safety, and Quality (FSQ) framework, the company ensures all markets follow the same strict standards, even as it adapts implementation to local regulations and conditions.
Global president and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong emphasized that the brand’s promise of “spreading joy” begins with safe, consistent food. He noted that as the business grows, standards are raised further so every meal delivers both great taste and reliability, no matter where it is served.
Instead of relying only on final checks, Jollibee builds safety and quality into every stage of its value chain. Suppliers must meet international standards like FSSC 22000 and HACCP, while product development, restaurant design, staff training, and operating procedures all follow rigorous controls. Continuous monitoring and corrective action systems are in place to fix gaps early and maintain consistency.
Wally Mateo, global head of quality management, explained these systems go beyond compliance—they protect product integrity and consumer trust by reducing risks and variations in every process.
To manage standards at scale, the group uses digital platforms including OneQMGateway and Veeva Vault QualityOne. These tools enable real-time tracking of performance, supplier compliance, and certification across countries, with the Philippines already serving as a fully implemented benchmark. Combined with regular audits, third-party certifications, and governance councils, these measures keep operations aligned with global requirements, achieving a 98–100 percent compliance rate consistently.
For Jollibee, food safety is not just an operational requirement but a strategic priority. It ensures consumers can trust every meal, while giving franchise partners a reliable framework that safeguards brand value and supports long-term success.
