First Gen Group, the Philippines’ leading renewable energy firm, has partnered with e-waste recycler HMR Envirocycle to roll out Drop IT for Good, a company-wide campaign for collecting and properly disposing of IT equipment and other electronic waste across the Lopez Group.
Launched on June 4, 2026, at Rockwell Business Center in Pasig City, the initiative covers employees of First Gen, its subsidiaries, and parent firm First Philippine Holdings Corporation. Staff are encouraged to bring unused, broken, or obsolete gadgets, cables, batteries, and small electronics to designated collection points. HMR Envirocycle will handle safe processing, recycling, and disposal to keep these items out of landfills, waterways, and informal waste channels.
The launch coincided with the start of the month-long Lopez Group Envi Festival, held every June for Philippine Environment Month.
Shirley Cruz, First Gen vice president, said the program turns broad sustainability goals into everyday choices by making responsible disposal easy and accessible at work. HMR Envirocycle’s Engr. Wilssie Sanchez also briefed staff on risks from improper discarding and how the effort supports pollution control and circular waste management.
HMR Envirocycle specializes in end-to-end e-waste services, including recycling, data security, and compliance, helping organizations adopt circular economy practices.
