Corporate gifts thrive despite rise of AI

Artificial intelligence may be transforming marketing, but corporate gifting continues to prove its value as a powerful tool for building brand loyalty and strengthening business relationships.

As companies increasingly automate customer engagement and advertising, many are doubling down on personalized giveaways that create a tangible connection with clients, employees, and business partners—something digital interactions often struggle to replicate.

The resilience of the sector is reflected in Southeast Asia’s corporate gifting market, which was estimated to surpass USD9 billion in 2025, driven by growing investments in employee engagement, customer retention, and brand-building initiatives.

In the Philippines, where business relationships remain deeply rooted in trust and personal interaction, corporate giveaways continue to play a central role in client appreciation programs, employee recognition efforts, holiday campaigns, and promotional activities.

That demand is fueling the growth of the Corporate Giveaways Buyers’ Show, the country’s longest-running sourcing event for gifts and premiums.

Scheduled on July 1-3, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, the event is mounting its largest edition yet, with exhibition space expanding by more than 60 percent from previous years.

“Studies show that up to 80 percent of recipients feel more valued when they receive high-quality, thoughtful gifts,” said Raquel Romero, president of World Expos & Concepts, organizer of the trade show.

More than 100 suppliers are expected to participate, showcasing eco-friendly products, customizable merchandise, and premium gifting solutions tailored to evolving corporate needs.

Industry players say the continued popularity of corporate gifting highlights a broader reality in the AI age: while technology can enhance efficiency and scale, meaningful human connections remain critical to business success.

For many brands, a well-chosen gift still delivers something algorithms cannot—lasting goodwill, stronger relationships, and a memorable customer experience.
