Globe finally launches Starlink-powered service for coverage beyond cellular networks

Globe Telecom has introduced its new Globe Starlink service, delivering mobile connectivity to areas outside the reach of traditional cell sites, following its official launch in January and successful pilot tests earlier this year.

Rolled out commercially on June 30, 2026, the service is available to Globe Prepaid and TM users starting at just ₱99. Postpaid subscribers on Plan 1499 and higher, plus Globe Platinum members, get the service at no extra charge as part of their existing plans. As an introductory offer, eligible Postpaid users receive three months of free access, while Platinum subscribers enjoy one full year of complimentary use.

Initially tested in remote parts of Rizal, Batangas, and Bataan, the service works with compatible Android and HarmonyOS devices. Users can send SMS, make app-based calls, use messaging apps like Viber and WhatsApp, access navigation, process GCash payments, connect to eGov PH services, and manage accounts via GlobeOne – all without standard cellular coverage. iOS support will be added in a future update.

According to Globe consumer mobile business vice president Eric Tanbauco, the initiative aims to serve travelers, field workers, and far-flung communities. “Connectivity should not stop where towers end,” he said, noting reliable access helps Filipinos pursue opportunities and stay connected when it matters most. The project was launched alongside President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., highlighting its role in boosting digital inclusion and national communications resilience.
