BDO eliminates digital transaction fees with BDO Pay app

Banking giant BDO Unibank is stepping up its digital finance push by offering completely fee-free transactions on its payment platform, BDO Pay, while launching a cash reward incentive for users who refer family and friends.

The app aims to eliminate the extra costs and complications typically associated with everyday digital payments. Users can send money for free to any BDO account, rival banks, or e-wallets through InstaPay and PesoNet. The service also covers zero-fee utility and bill payments for more than 2,200 billers, free mobile load purchases, and fee-free QR code scans for in-store purchases, ATM cash withdrawals, and deposits.

Unlike many digital wallets that require users to manually transfer or “cash in” funds before spending, BDO Pay links directly to a user’s existing BDO deposit accounts or credit cards. This setup allows transactions to process instantly from source accounts while giving users a centralized place to earn, view, and redeem rewards points and discount deals.

To encourage wider adoption, BDO has introduced a referral campaign running from July 1 to September 30, 2026. Under the program, existing users can share an in-app referral code with contacts. When a new user registers using the code, the referrer receives ₱100 in cash credits, while the new user gets ₱50 in cash credits. Existing customers can access their unique code through the app’s menu under the “Refer a Friend” section and share it directly via standard messaging apps.

BDO Pay is available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
