Shell Energy Philippines (SEPH) has selected two companies to deliver works and run the proposed 30-megawatt / 60-megawatt hour Hermosa Battery Energy Storage System in Bataan.
In a statement Wednesday, SEPH said Power Dimension Inc will handle engineering, procurement, construction and testing of the facility. The system will use Power Titan 3.0 technology, alongside related electrical and supporting infrastructure.
Sungrow Power Technology Solutions Philippines Inc will meanwhile provide long-term technical support, upkeep and operational services under separate deals signed for the project.
Once completed, the SEPH will own and run the facility as part of its expanding energy assets. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Signing these deals marks a major milestone for the Hermosa battery project. We are glad to work with proven partners as we move to the next stage of development,” said SEPH president and CEO Bernd Krukenberg.
“Battery storage helps make our power supply more reliable and adaptable. These agreements lay the groundwork to get the project up and running safely and efficiently,” Krukenberg added.
SEPH is the official retail power provider for Shell businesses in the Philippines. It trades in the country’s wholesale electricity market and supplies power and energy solutions to business clients across manufacturing, property, education and retail sectors.
