NDC names Robert James Samson as new GM

The National Development Co. (NDC) has appointed Robert James M. Samson as its new general manager, as the state-owned investment firm seeks to maximize its assets and expand its role in strategic industries.

Samson formally took his oath of office before Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque on Aug. 18, 2026.

He brings more than a decade of international experience in business development and investment management, having worked with major companies, institutions, creators, innovators, and investors across various industries.

As general manager, Samson will focus on maximizing NDC’s assets, strengthening and diversifying its investment portfolio, and developing strategic partnerships to support the company’s growth mandate.

He will also seek to position NDC to capture emerging investment opportunities and generate long-term value in industries considered critical to the Philippines’ economic development.

His appointment comes as NDC continues to pursue investments and partnerships aligned with industrial development, innovation, and the government’s broader economic priorities.

NDC, a government-owned investment company under the DTI, manages a portfolio of assets and investments intended to support national development objectives.

Samson completed his secondary education at La Salle Green Hills and earned his degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

His mandate puts investment portfolio diversification and strategic partnerships at the center of NDC’s next phase, potentially giving the company a broader role in channeling capital toward emerging industries and development priorities.
