Nestlé Group CEO Philipp Navratil made his first official visit to the Philippines since taking the top post, highlighting the country’s role as one of the company’s 10 largest markets worldwide and its biggest market in Southeast Asia.
Navratil, accompanied by Remy Ejel, CEO of Nestlé Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa, said the Philippines offers significant room for growth, supported by economic expansion, a young and growing population, and strong consumer affinity for Nestlé brands.
“The Philippines is one of Nestlé’s most dynamic and promising markets,” Navratil said. “It has strong fundamentals, talented people and significant potential for further growth.”
“We are committed to investing behind our brands, capabilities and operations to capture these opportunities, while contributing to the health and well-being of Filipino families and the communities we serve,” he added.
Nestlé said its Philippine business has opportunities to accelerate growth, strengthen its market position, and contribute more to the group’s overall performance.
During the visit, Navratil and Ejel toured retail outlets to gain firsthand insights into consumer trends and market conditions. They also met with Nestlé Philippines employees and business leaders and visited one of the company’s manufacturing facilities.
At an employee town hall, the executives discussed the Philippine market’s growth prospects and the local operation’s contribution to Nestlé’s global business.
They also visited the Nestlé Wellness Campus (NWC), the company’s flagship nutrition education program in the Philippines and part of the global Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative.
Established in 2013 in partnership with the Department of Education, NWC promotes healthy eating, proper hydration, physical activity, and other healthy lifestyle habits. The program now reaches 12 million students in 26,000 public schools across nine regions.
The visit also highlighted sustainability initiatives under Nestlé Philippines Chairman and CEO Mauricio Alarcón, including biomass boilers, packaging improvements, and consumer waste recovery programs.
Nestlé said these efforts are intended to reduce environmental impact while improving operational efficiency and building resilience across its Philippine operations.
