Nestlé Philippines has committed nearly P500 million to expand its manufacturing facility for Chuckie chocolate drink in Tanauan City, Batangas, marking a major move to scale up output and respond to rising consumer demand. In a statement released Wednesday, the company said the investment lifts its annual production capacity by an additional 144 million packs, ensuring it can keep pace with market needs while upholding strict quality and safety standards.
This expansion carries broad significance for local operations and the community—it strengthens domestic supply chains, opens up new employment opportunities, and contributes to regional economic progress. The project also supports the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering nutritious products: Chuckie is fortified with key nutrients including Calcium, Vitamin D, Iron, Zinc, and Protein, designed to help Filipino families access better daily nutrition.
“The growing demand for Chuckie challenges us to keep improving how we serve consumers. With this expansion, we are increasing our capacity to deliver consistently, while upholding the quality, safety, and reliability that people expect from Nestlé,” shared Neil Desabelle, Factory Manager for Nestlé Tanauan.
While the company has not disclosed the facility’s current total annual production volume or whether the site could accommodate further expansion should demand keep rising, it emphasized wider efforts beyond manufacturing growth. These include running nutrition education programs nationwide to support children’s health, using paper straws for Chuckie to cut down on plastic impact, and advancing material use reduction and waste management initiatives. Aligned with its goal of unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life, Nestlé also continues to develop product innovations and build partnerships with local experts to further nutrition and well-being across the country.
