Taiwan-based CQS Precision Die Casting Inc. is expanding into the Philippines with a new manufacturing facility in Batangas, adding robotics production to the industrial mix at LIMA Estate.
CQS, through newly established Philippine subsidiary MDT Technologies Philippines Inc., is investing in a 1.86-hectare site at the Aboitiz Economic Estates development. The property was formally turned over on September 15, following the project’s ceremonial groundbreaking on August 25.
The facility will manufacture the Piebon Companion Robot and is targeted to begin operations in the first quarter of 2028. The project is expected to create about 200 jobs, adding a relatively high-tech manufacturing segment to LIMA Estate’s growing industrial base.
For CQS, the Philippine venture broadens its manufacturing footprint beyond its existing operations in Dong Nai, Vietnam, while strengthening its presence in Asia’s increasingly interconnected automotive, mobility and industrial supply chains.
The company produces precision metal components for automotive and electric vehicle applications, motorcycles, agricultural machinery and other industrial sectors. Its capabilities span aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, stamping, surface treatment and assembly. CQS also maintains overseas warehousing to serve customers in the United States.
Aboitiz Economic Estates President and CEO Rafael De Mesa said the company welcomed MDT Technologies as it moves toward establishing Philippine operations.
The investment also gives LIMA Estate another foothold in advanced manufacturing, as the industrial park seeks to attract businesses requiring integrated infrastructure, utilities, services and access to a skilled workforce.
While the project’s initial employment footprint is modest, its robotics focus adds a different dimension to Batangas’ manufacturing ecosystem, potentially linking the province more closely with regional supply chains for automation, mobility and precision engineering.
For CQS, the facility represents both a geographic expansion and a step into a new production market, with commercial operations still more than a year away.
