The Clark Development Corp. (CDC) is driving local supply chain integration within the Clark Freeport Zone, urging manufacturers and exporters to source materials from fellow locators to cut import reliance under the Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC).
CDC Assistant Vice President for Business Enhancement Rodem Perez said the initiative leverages fiscal incentives to foster import substitution and build an interconnected industrial ecosystem rather than isolated production hubs.
“We encourage and promote and we ask our manufacturers and export enterprises to do business amongst each other,” Perez stated, noting that incentives must be backed by reliable infrastructure and strong business networks.
The strategy took center stage at the recent LEC Investment Forum, which brought together officials and investors from the Philippines, United States, and Japan. Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Joshua Bingcang pitched high-value opportunities in advanced manufacturing, energy security, and logistics across Clark and New Clark City, spotlighting the proposed Clark Advanced Manufacturing Park.
Strengthening domestic linkages aims to capture a larger share of high-value manufacturing investments, shifting local enterprises from importing foreign technologies to becoming active producers and suppliers within the regional supply chain.
