The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) is exploring a 24-hour satellite office at the FedEx Philippines Gateway in Clark as it seeks to speed up export processing and reduce regulatory bottlenecks for time-sensitive shipments.
The proposed facility would bring PEZA services closer to exporters and logistics operators, allowing faster coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and other trade agencies while supporting the gateway’s round-the-clock cargo operations.
PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and Deputy Director General Vivian Santos discussed the proposal with FedEx Philippines officials during a meeting on Sept. 17.
If established, the satellite office could serve PEZA-registered manufacturers and exporters that rely on the timely movement of raw materials, components and finished goods through global supply chains.
The proposed PEZA presence would complement FedEx’s 24/7 operations in Clark and reinforce the facility’s role as a logistics gateway within the Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC).
“Beyond logistics operations, the proposed PEZA presence reinforces Clark’s strategic role in the country’s investment and export ecosystem,” Panga said.
“As supply chains become increasingly integrated and trade volumes continue to grow, PEZA continues to expand partnerships and services in key economic corridors to support investment growth, facilitate trade, and advance ease of doing business across the Philippines.”
The initiative comes as authorities seek to strengthen Clark’s position as a logistics and industrial hub, where faster customs clearance and regulatory processing can be important factors for export-oriented investors.
A permanent PEZA presence at the FedEx facility could help cut administrative delays, improve shipment turnaround times and make it easier for exporters to manage time-sensitive cargo.
For PEZA, the proposal also reflects a broader push to bring regulatory services closer to major economic and logistics corridors rather than requiring businesses to rely solely on centralized processing.
