VinFast offers $60,000 incentives to expand  electric motorcycle network

VinFast is offering incentives of up to USD60,000 per showroom to recruit dealership partners in the Philippines, stepping up efforts to establish a broader distribution network for electric motorcycles in Southeast Asia.

The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer announced the program on October 13, targeting local entrepreneurs and established automotive distributors with financial support designed to reduce the upfront cost of entering the electric two-wheeler market. Indonesia is also covered by the initiative.

Eligible partners opening new VinFast electric motorcycle showrooms by December 31, 2026, can receive basic support of up to USD40,000 per location, depending on floor area, showroom size and compliance with the company’s dealership standards.

The offer includes an additional USD5,000 for outlets that open by October 31, creating a short window for early entrants to secure higher incentives. Partners establishing at least three showrooms can qualify for a further USD15,000 per location, lifting the maximum potential support to USD60,000 per eligible outlet.

The package could make expansion more attractive for Philippine motorcycle distributors and automotive retailers seeking to diversify as electric mobility gains a foothold. By sharing some showroom development costs, VinFast is seeking to lower barriers for prospective dealers and accelerate access to its electric motorcycles.

The move also points to a broader ambition beyond passenger vehicles, positioning the company to compete for a share of the Philippines’ extensive motorcycle market. Building a physical retail network will be important for customer reach, although the scale of the opportunity will depend on pricing, product suitability and the availability of after-sales support.

Key details remain undisclosed. VinFast has not specified its target number of Philippine showrooms, committed investment, local model lineup or intended retail prices. Those factors will help determine whether the incentives translate into sustained dealer participation and meaningful sales.

With the program ending in December, the company is offering prospective partners a time-sensitive route into its electric motorcycle business, while tying its largest payouts to early openings and multi-location expansion.
