DigiPlus Interactive Corp. aims to launch as many as 60 new games next year, expanding its lineup as competition heats up in the Philippine online gaming space. The company is also stepping up its focus on original, locally developed titles rather than relying on foreign content, setting it apart from many industry peers.
Ray de Guzman, DigiPlus head of localization, shared that the company has already secured two additional local franchises to complement its offerings, which have traditionally centered on online slots. The team is targeting roughly double the number of releases it puts out this year, which is expected to top 30 games by year-end.
A key recent partnership brings the iconic Shake, Rattle & Roll film franchise to digital gaming through DigiPlus brand BingoPlus and Regal Entertainment. Five original themed games — Manananggal, Reyna Ahas, Triple Terror, LRT Monster, and Aswang — draw from the beloved horror anthology’s deep roots in Philippine folklore and mythology. The deal is structured as a one-time fee rather than ongoing revenue sharing, letting the company weave familiar local stories directly into gameplay.
DigiPlus develops its own content in-house, adapting local lore and stories into unique game mechanics instead of simply importing existing titles. De Guzman noted that this connection to familiar stories is what makes their games stand out, comparing the creative process to writing a comic book or producing a film.
Around 80 percent of the company’s focus remains on slot games, where demand and community engagement remain strongest. Still, it is broadening its lineup beyond slots too — a localized version of the popular Aviator game is scheduled for release this December.
The expansion comes as major competitors ramp up their own offerings. Bloomberry Resorts Corp. recently introduced the Philippines’ first regulated live interactive gaming platform under its FUNaloMAX brand, blending live entertainment, streaming, and creator content alongside gaming. That platform also rolled out a P30-million year-end promotional drive to capture a larger share of the fast-growing digital gaming market.
