The Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking to expand renewable energy (RE) use in off-grid areas by partnering with both government agencies and private sector developers. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on diesel generators in communities served by the Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG).

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid under a yellow alert on Wednesday, November 19, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., following the unavailability of several power plants.

Negros Electric and Power Corp. is close to fully restoring electricity across Central Negros after Typhoons Tino and Uwan, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). As of 6 p.m. on November 17, 2025, power has been restored to more than 92 percent of the 244,915 affected customers.

Alsons Consolidated Resources Inc. (ACR) reported an improvement in its bottom line for the first nine months of 2025, with net income attributable to the parent company rising to P695 million from P604 million last year. The increase was mainly due to the recognition of a development fee from its partner in Sarangani Energy Corporation.
