Manila Water Co. Inc. said its P2.5 billion Hinulugang Taktak sewage treatment plant (STP) in Antipolo is on track to full completion by end-2024.
When completed, the project will service more than 148,000 residents of Barangay dela Paz, San Isidro, San Roque and San Jose in Antipolo City.
Manila Water said the facility is also designed to process 16 million liters of wastewater a day and help rehabilitate the Hinulugang Taktak by treating wastewater generated within the catchment area prior to sending them on to the falls.
Manila Water serves customers in Makati, Pasig, Pateros, Marikina, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Taguig, some parts of Quezon City and Manila; and several towns in Rizal province that include Taytay, Teresa, Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, San Mateo and Rodriguez.
It has partnerships with water districts in Tagum, Davao del Norte; Bulacan; Clark in Pangasinan; Calasiao in Pangasinan; San Jose in Nueva Ecija; Laguna; Boracay in Aklan; Cebu.
Manila Water also has operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
