    PAL begins annual sale of discounted tickets to domestic, foreign destinations

    The Philippine Airlines on Monday launched its year-end sale of domestic and international tickets as part of the program encouraging more passengers to travel. 

    The Lucio Tan-led airline said the annual activity is available in all sales channels from 20 November to 10 December 2023. 

    For domestic tickets, the travel period starts 1 February 2024 with one-way base fares as low as P218.

    For International flights, the travel period begins 1 December 2023 with round trip base fares as low as $79. 

    PAL earlier bared flying 11 million passengers in the first nine months of the year, improving on the 6.4 million flown in the same period in 2022. 

    In the third quarter alone, PAL carried four million passengers, up 54 percent from only 2.6 million flown in the same period last year. 

    The airline posted net income of  $348 million (P19.2 billion) in the first nine months, higher than only $133 million (P7.2 billion) for the same period in 2022.  

    Its operating income totaled $444 million (P24.6 billion) over nine months versus $212 million (P 11.5 billion) in 2022.  

    The airline earlier announced acquisition of Airbus A350-1000 long-range aircraft valued at a list price of over $3.2 billion (P176.6 billion) with nine aircraft ordered. These will service the Manila to North America and Europe routes.

    In addition to an extensive network of 33 domestic destinations, PAL operates a large network of nonstop flights from the Philippines to North America, Japan, the Middle East and Australia.
