    PNOC redeveloping Taguig property

The Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) is soliciting proposals for the long-term lease and re-development of a portion of its land holdings at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

In a statement posted at its website, the project requires the construction of a mixed-use office and commercial building that caters to both government agencies and corporations engaged in energy development and private companies and individuals.

According to the PNOC, selecting the private sector developer will be done through a public bidding under applicable public-private partnership laws and regulations.

A consultative meeting has been set on 17 January this year as part of its market-sounding activities and formulation of the terms of reference for the selection of the private-sector developer.

Earlier PNOC administrations have tried crafting a master plan for the property in Taguig to optimize its use and generate additional income for the government.

Previous proposals for re-development have pushed for both commercial and residential use but with a primary goal of housing the Department of Energy, the Philippine National Oil Company and energy companies that would locate at the proposed energy center.

The PNOC is mandated to venture into activities that help ensure a stable supply of petroleum products that sustain the growth of the economy and the social well-being of the country. The mandate includes pursuing the exploration, exploitation and development of all energy resources.
