Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, a division of the Gokongwei’s listed property arm Robinsons Land Corp., plans to invest P10 billion to expand its upscale and ultra-luxury portfolio in order to drive future growth.
Over the next few years, RHR plans to add more than 990 room keys, including the launch of the ultra-luxury hotel ‘NuStar’ in Cebu, the lifestyle brand ‘Grand Summit’ in key locations, and the highly anticipated ‘Fili,’ the first Filipino-owned five-star hotel brand in Bridgetowne, Metro Manila.
Barun Jolly, senior vice president and business unit general manager of RHR, highlighted the alignment of the company’s growth targets with the Gokongwei Group’s commitment to providing top-tier hospitality options. “We are dedicated to delivering elevated luxury and branded stay experiences across the country,” Jolly said.
RHR expects the expansion plant to strengthen its position as a leader in the hospitality sector while elevating its profile among globally recognized brands. The investment is expected to drive long-term growth, enhance guest experiences, and solidify RHR’s role in the booming tourism and real estate markets in the Philippines.
Currently operating 30 properties across 20 cities and municipalities, RHR stands as the largest and most diversified hotel group in the country.
Among the highlights of the expansion is the Fili Hotel, which aims to represent Filipino excellence in hospitality. Situated within Cebu’s premier NUSTAR Resort complex, Fili has already garnered recognition for its architectural design, winning the Best Hospitality Architectural Design award at the 18th Property Guru Asia Property Awards.
“Fili is a heartfelt project that celebrates Filipino hospitality while setting a new standard in international luxury,” Jolly noted.
The NuStar brand will complete the NUSTAR Resort complex in Cebu, catering to discerning guests seeking personalized, world-class experiences.
Meantime, the Grand Summit lifestyle brand will blend local culture with art and design to offer unique luxury experiences. With the successful launch of Grand Summit Gensan in 2021, two more properties are planned for Cebu and Pangasinan, further expanding RHR’s footprint. Grand Summit Cebu will complete the NUSTAR Resort complex, while Grand Summit Pangasinan will enhance hospitality offerings in the region alongside the new Robinsons mall.
