AboitizPower Corp.’s distribution segment is ramping up efforts to improve customer connectivity and explore service expansion.
Anton Perdices, COO of AboitizPower Distribution Utilities, said at the Enlit Asia 2024 conference in Kuala Lumpur that the company is working to provide customers in Cotabato, Davao, and Manila with a mobile app offering bill management, outage notifications, and online payment services. Currently, some 70 percent of AboitizPower’s one million customers use the app which has 80 percent adoption in Cotabato.
Perdices expressed interest in assisting the Northern Davao Electric Cooperative Inc. (Nordeco) and enhance its services, noting strong consumer demand for improved reliability in Davao. He acknowledged any service expansion will require legislative approval and substantial investment for infrastructure upgrades.
AboitizPower operates multiple distribution utilities across regions, including Davao Light and Visayan Electric Co. It aims to streamline its operations and reduce carbon emissions through digital initiatives.
