    Lenovo named FIFA’s technology partner for upcoming World Cups

    Lenovo has officially been named FIFA Technology Partner, a top-tier sponsorship agreement unveiled at the company’s annual Tech World innovation event. The partnership includes the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as well as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Brazil.

    The collaboration aims to enhance global fan engagement and accessibility in football through integrated technology solutions. Lenovo’s extensive product lineup—including AI-driven innovations, ThinkPad laptops, Motorola mobile phones, and servers—will be utilized to improve fan experiences in stadiums and enhance analytics for the tournaments.

    Lenovo chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang said, “We’re delighted to partner with the world’s most global and popular sport. Lenovo will be powering the largest sporting and entertainment events in human history, responding to an unprecedented demand for data processing and technology.”

    FIFA president Gianni Infantino expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its commitment to making football accessible worldwide. “With Lenovo, we will implement technologies that create unparalleled fan experiences at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027,” he said.

    This partnership marks Lenovo’s first collaboration with FIFA and builds upon the company’s history of supporting major global sporting events, reinforcing its position in the sports technology arena.

    The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 teams, marking a historic first for a tournament hosted by three nations, while the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil will celebrate its tenth edition, showcasing 32 teams.
