In a bold step toward a greener future, Globe Telecom is empowering its vendors to meet global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards through comprehensive training, tools, and technology. As regulatory pressures mount—both locally in the Philippines and globally—companies are increasingly required to disclose their environmental impact. Globe is taking proactive action to ensure its supply chain is not only compliant but also prepared to meet growing consumer expectations for sustainability.
Through its in-house Sustainability Academy, Globe provides vendors with essential resources to implement sustainable practices and close knowledge gaps. This initiative aims to enhance competitive advantage and align with evolving environmental regulations.
“We need deliberate efforts, awareness, and collaboration to build a truly sustainable supply chain,” said Jerry Cabiles, Globe’s head of procurement and logistics.
In partnership with Givvable, an Australian-based ESG data platform, Globe recently hosted a webinar, attended by nearly 170 participants from over 50 suppliers. The session focused on reducing carbon footprints and improving ESG performance, key topics for vendors looking to stay ahead of industry standards.
“By integrating sustainability into every aspect of our supply chain, we’re not only meeting regulatory demands but also addressing the growing consumer demand for responsible business practices,” said Apple Evangelista, Globe’s head of sustainability and social responsibility.
Globe is already using Givvable’s AI-powered platform to assess the ESG performance of its top 300 suppliers, ensuring its supply chain meets global sustainability standards. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its training efforts, making its supply chain more resilient and responsible in the fight for a sustainable future.
