Kaspersky upgrades service with AI for streamlined cybersecurity research

Kaspersky has rolled out an upgrade to its Threat Lookup service, enhancing it with AI-powered summaries and abstract generation for faster open-source intelligence (OSINT) searches. This improvement is aimed at helping businesses optimize their cybersecurity operations by automating routine research tasks. The new functionality, available in the Kaspersky Threat Intelligence Portal, now provides detailed insights for a range of indicators—IP addresses, URLs, domains, and file hashes—enabling teams to more quickly assess threats and reduce investigation times.

This upgrade responds to the growing need for security teams to focus on more strategic initiatives. According to a report by Enterprise Strategy Group, 22 percent of organizations want their security personnel to move away from routine tasks to focus on higher-level concerns. By automating the OSINT search process, Kaspersky’s AI-driven system helps companies save time on research, providing actionable intelligence on threat actors, affected regions, and industries, all within a single interface.

“Automation is key to improving efficiency in security operations,” said Anatoly Simonenko, senior product manager at Kaspersky. “Our AI-powered OSINT search capabilities streamline the investigation process, allowing teams to focus on more complex issues and enhancing their overall response to cyberattacks.”

This development reflects Kaspersky’s commitment to providing enterprises with advanced tools to defend against the increasing volume and sophistication of cyber threats.
