MOVE IT donates helmets to MMDA Motorcycle Riding Academy

Motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT has deepened its partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) through a significant contribution of brand-new helmets to the MMDA’s Motorcycle Riding Academy (MRA). This donation supports MMDA’s mission to make motorcycle riding education more accessible to both current and aspiring riders, a crucial step towards improving road safety in Metro Manila.

The MRA offers free, expert-led motorcycle training programs for riders of all skill levels. As participants are required to provide their own gear, MOVE IT’s donation will help lower financial barriers, ensuring that more individuals can benefit from these important courses. This initiative adds to the company’s ongoing efforts to promote safety, following previous donations of equipment like agility cones, rider vests, and tents to the MRA.

Wayne Jacinto, general manager of MOVE IT, emphasized the importance of education and training for both private riders and motorcycle taxi operators as the industry continues to expand. “It’s crucial that we provide access to programs that prioritize safety on the road,” Jacinto said. “MOVE IT fully supports programs like the MRA, because road safety is a collective responsibility, and it’s essential that all stakeholders—from platforms to government agencies—work together to ensure safer roads.”

MMDA chairman Romando Artes expressed gratitude for MOVE IT’s continuous support, noting that the collaboration helps foster a safety-first culture among Metro Manila’s commuters. “A united industry stance on promoting road safety is essential for cultivating a culture of discipline on our roads,” Artes stated. He also revealed that this helmet donation is the first of many collaborative initiatives focused on road safety for the year.

MOVE IT’s donation not only strengthens its relationship with MMDA but also reinforces its commitment to road safety, providing valuable resources to riders across Metro Manila.
