EVA Air finalizes aircraft order, expanding fleet for sustainable growth

Taiwan’s EVA Air has confirmed its order for six long-range Airbus A350-1000s and three A321neo single-aisle aircraft, a commitment originally announced in March 2025. The deal raises EVA Air’s aircraft backlog to 24 A350-1000s and 18 A321neos, reinforcing its ongoing fleet expansion.

The addition of these advanced aircraft underscores EVA Air’s commitment to sustainable aviation, with both the A350-1000 and A321neo setting new standards in efficiency and passenger comfort. “These new additions to our fleet will help us enhance our network and market position, leveraging the aircraft’s extended range and fuel efficiency,” said Clay Sun, president of EVA Air.

The A350-1000 is recognized as the world’s most modern and efficient widebody aircraft, boasting the longest range of any commercial airliner at 9,700 nautical miles. It uses 25 percent less fuel than older models and is already capable of operating with up to 50 percent sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with a goal of 100 percent SAF compatibility by 2030.

Airbus EVP sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry highlighted the significance of the A350-1000’s role in long-haul operations and the A321neo’s dominance in regional efficiency. With over 1,360 orders globally for the A350 Family and more than 6,800 orders for the A321neo, both aircraft types are central to modernizing the commercial aviation sector while reducing environmental impact.
