AirAsia MOVE (MOVE), the all-in-one travel booking platform, has secured official accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the Philippines — a milestone set to expand flight choices and streamline booking for Filipinos traveling home or abroad.
The recognition is already opening new airline partnerships: in just its first few weeks, roughly 30 international carriers serving Philippine routes have granted MOVE official ticketing authority.
“Our IATA accreditation is already opening new doors for MOVE. Within the first few weeks, around 30 international airlines serving routes to and from the Philippines have granted us ticketing authority,” said Malou Japson, country head of MOVE Philippines.
This accreditation marks a key step in MOVE’s shift toward becoming a fully integrated travel platform, letting users book flights, hotels, and other travel services all through one app. The platform now gives access to over 700 airlines flying to 3,000 global destinations — including direct partnerships with major carriers like Etihad Airways, ANA, and VietJet — plus more than one million hotels, live events, attractions, and related travel products.
Beyond broader flight options, MOVE says its growing footprint as an online travel agency creates new opportunities for Philippine airlines, tourism businesses, and industry partners by widening their digital reach and distribution. The platform also aims to deepen its role in the local aviation and tourism sectors, having already joined the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) earlier this year.
“Travel is an ecosystem, and no single player can thrive in isolation,” Japson noted, adding that stronger ties with industry groups will help shape the future of travel in the Philippines.
MOVE plans to keep expanding its airline network and travel offerings, with the goal of connecting more Filipinos to destinations across the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the globe.
