PLDT extends free calls, fee-free remittance for Filipinos in Middle East

PLDT Global Corporation has extended its free call service to help overseas Filipinos in parts of the Middle East stay connected with their families in the Philippines amid ongoing regional tensions.

The free calls, available through the Smart Virtual Number on the TinBo app, will run until April 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Manila time. Filipinos in countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Israel, and Saudi Arabia can continue calling Philippine landline and mobile numbers at no cost.

The service also allows users to contact key government hotlines, including those of the Department of Migrant Workers and the anti-human trafficking hotline, ensuring access to assistance during emergencies.

In addition, PLDT Global is waiving convenience fees for ePadala remittances made through the TinBo platform for users in Saudi Arabia and the UAE until the same date. This aims to make it easier and more affordable for Filipinos abroad to send financial support to their families.

PLDT Global president and CEO Albert Villa-Real said the extension is meant to support Filipinos during uncertain times by providing reliable communication and financial services.

The Smart Virtual Number is a SIM-less Philippine mobile number that also enables users to receive one-time passwords from banks and e-wallets, allowing secure online transactions while abroad.
