Manila Water holds Earth Day 2026 nature activity in Quezon City

Manila Water led a community environmental event called Lakbay Kalikasan 2026: Let’s Move for Nature on Saturday at the La Mesa Nature Reserve in Novaliches, Quezon City, in celebration of Earth Day 2026.

About 110 participants from government and private groups joined the activity, organized by Manila Water in partnership with the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office, MWSS Corporate Office, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Quezon City local government.

The event was held at the La Mesa Nature Reserve, a key watershed that helps supply water to Metro Manila. Participants took part in a 7-kilometer nature hike and a yoga session aimed at promoting health and environmental awareness.

Organizers said the activity supports Earth Day 2026’s global theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” which highlights the importance of collective action in protecting the environment. Manila Water said it continues to support watershed protection, renewable energy efforts, and more efficient operations to reduce environmental impact.

Officials from partner agencies stressed the importance of protecting watersheds like La Mesa, saying this helps ensure clean and safe water for future generations.

Manila Water said the event is part of its ongoing push to encourage communities to take simple, everyday actions to help protect nature and water sources.
