Lenovo reshapes Asia-Pacific leadership with new commercial chief

Lenovo has appointed Sumir Bhatia as its first chief commercial officer for the Asia Pacific region.

Bhatia will lead a new commercial organization that combines enterprise sales, solution sales, channel, and alliances teams. The goal is to improve coordination and drive growth across the region. He will continue to report to Amar Babu.

A longtime Lenovo executive, Bhatia previously led the company’s Infrastructure Solutions Group in Asia Pacific, overseeing a decade of steady business growth.

Lenovo said the Asia Pacific market offers strong opportunities due to rapid digital transformation, varying levels of technology adoption, and growing demand for flexible, end-to-end solutions. The new structure will help the company deliver its full-stack AI and Hybrid AI offerings more effectively to commercial customers.

The leadership change comes ahead of the planned retirement of Ivan Cheung in June 2026. Cheung has played a key role in the company’s growth in the region.

Benjamin Yeh has already taken over as vice presidebt and general manager of Lenovo’s PCs and Smart Devices business in Asia Pacific as of March 2026, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience
