BCDA remittance contribution support AFP modernization, national funds

The Department of Finance (DOF) has received P5.7 billion from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), marking a significant contribution to government funds and national development programs.

The amount includes P2.6 billion in dividends turned over to the National Treasury, along with P3.1 billion allocated to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program and other beneficiaries.

Finance officials said the remittance highlights the growing role of BCDA in generating revenue for the government while supporting key national priorities, particularly military modernization.

BCDA is responsible for converting former military bases into productive economic centers. Its major developments—such as Clark, New Clark City, and Camp John Hay—have become important hubs for business, investment, and job creation.

From 2024 to the first quarter of 2026, BCDA reported attracting more than P104.51 billion in investments. These projects have created around 15,770 jobs, mainly in high-impact industries.

The latest remittance reflects how redevelopment of former military lands is helping boost the economy, create employment, and provide additional funding for government programs.
