Visa has launched Visa University, a global learning platform that brings together the company’s industry expertise and real‑world case studies. Customized courses are now open to banking, finance, and payments professionals in the Philippines to strengthen technical know‑how and industry education.
Led by Visa Consulting and Analytics, the platform kicked off locally with a forum at the Asian Institute of Management, drawing over 100 participants from banks, fintechs, merchants, and financial institutions. Sessions covered core payment fundamentals plus emerging topics such as agentic commerce and risk management.
Visa Philippines country manager Jeffrey Navarro said the program addresses the fast‑evolving payments landscape, where leaders need both solid foundations and adaptability. It also backs national aims for a more inclusive, innovative, and secure digital economy by developing local talent and making payment systems more robust.
This platform expands on Visa’s existing advisory work. The first event featured beginner courses on issuing, acquiring, and credit card profitability. Earlier, Visa partnered with INSEAD to train senior leaders in new payment tech. Future plans include collaborations with local universities and professional groups to broaden access and develop tailored learning content.
The initiative lifts professional standards in the financial sector, aligns workforce skills with digital transformation targets, and advances wider efforts for financial inclusion and economic modernization.
