Maynilad Water Services will upgrade its Putatan Water Treatment Plant 1 in Muntinlupa City using durable ceramic ultrafiltration membranes. The technology has already been proven effective since its first use in the Philippines at the company’s 2024 Laguna Lake modular facility, where it performed well even as raw water quality shifts due to weather and climate changes.
Replacing older membranes with this longer-lasting system will improve operational stability, cut maintenance needs, and strengthen treatment during periods of high water turbidity. The first phase of work begins by the end of the year, as part of Maynilad’s broader plan to boost Laguna Lake facilities as a reliable alternative source to Angat Dam. This supports consistent water supply for millions of customers across Metro Manila and parts of Cavite.
