ABS-CBN is further growing its international presence with the fourth season of its hit action-drama “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” now available in 41 countries across Africa. Marketed internationally as “Gangs of Manila,” the series is offered in English, Portuguese, and French, making it accessible to a wider range of viewers on the continent.
This expansion marks another key achievement for the show, which has been the Philippines’ highest-rated primetime program from 2023 through 2026. Led by actor and director Coco Martin, the title continues to draw strong viewership and interaction on StarTimes’ digital channels such as Facebook and TikTok, highlighting rising global demand for Filipino-produced action and drama.
The African rollout is part of ABS-CBN’s broader strategy to share Filipino stories worldwide through partnerships in broadcasting, streaming, and digital distribution. The company recently secured a multi-title deal with Amazon MX Player, one of India’s leading free streaming services, bringing several of its series to audiences there. It also made history when “2 Good 2 Be True” became the first Philippine drama to air on free-to-air television in the Middle East via Dubai One. Additionally, a licensing agreement with Rakuten Viki now makes selected ABS-CBN titles available in over 200 countries and territories across the Americas, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
First broadcast in the Philippines from 2023 to 2026, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” maintained strong ratings both on television and online. To date, ABS-CBN has licensed more than 50,000 hours of content to over 50 markets worldwide. These moves reflect the network’s ongoing shift toward becoming a global storytelling brand, dedicated to bringing Filipino narratives and talent to viewers everywhere.
