McDonald’s Philippines rolls out 10,000 meals for earthquake-hit Southern Mindanao

McDonald’s Philippines has activated its Kindness Kitchen program to provide no less than 10,000 hot meals to communities severely affected by the recent earthquake in Southern Mindanao. Working hand-in-hand with local government units, the company aims to deliver nourishing food to families in impacted areas as part of its immediate relief efforts.

Within the first 24 hours after the quake struck, 500 meals were already distributed to beneficiaries in General Santos City, where reports indicate extensive damage and major disruptions to daily life. An additional 2,000 meals are scheduled to be sent to the city in the coming days, while preparations are underway to bring food aid to other affected parts of the region.

The assistance is intended not only for residents but also for frontline responders—including rescue teams, health workers, and volunteers—who are working around the clock to ensure safety and deliver aid to those in need.

“During times of crisis, McDonald’s is committed to providing comfort and nourishment. We continue to work with our partner local government units to provide the necessary assistance for affected areas through the McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen,” said Margot B. Torres, Managing Director of McDonald’s Philippines.

The company also plans to keep providing food support as communities begin their recovery. Those who wish to help expand this effort can donate through McDonald’s partner charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The donation page is available at https://www.rmhc.org.ph/donate-now, though the full details on the page are currently inaccessible.
