The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has added Fitmart Tacurong in Sultan Kudarat as its latest “May BPI Dito” Partner Store, moving forward with its goal of bringing more inclusive and convenient banking services to Filipinos. The collaboration places key financial services within easy reach of people in Tacurong City, removing common barriers that keep communities from accessing formal banking.
Residents can now open BPI accounts, apply for the bank’s products, and make free cash deposits and withdrawals at Fitmart Tacurong. These services follow the store’s operating schedule, extending well beyond standard banking hours and remaining available on weekends and holidays so customers can manage their finances at times that suit their daily routines.
“BPI is committed to making banking more accessible, relevant, and convenient for Filipinos wherever they are,” said Rally Jereza, BPI agency banking head. He noted that teaming up with trusted local outlets like Fitmart Tacurong opens up more options for people to join the formal financial system and use services on their own terms.
Fitmart Tacurong is a leading retail hub in the area, drawing over 15,000 visitors each month with its department store and supermarket offerings that serve families, businesses, and nearby provinces. Maria Virginia Villaruel, president and CEO of Fitmart Tacurong, shared that the partnership lets them add practical banking support to the everyday goods and services they already provide the community. “Fitmart Tacurong has always been committed to serving the everyday needs of Tacurongnons. Becoming a BPI Partner Store allows us to offer a wider range of in-store services, now including banking services available when our customers need them most,” she said.
The arrangement addresses the needs of workers, entrepreneurs, students, and families who often cannot visit bank branches during regular work hours. The official launch was attended by Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla alongside BPI and Fitmart Tacurong executives. This latest addition is part of BPI’s continuing effort to build a broader network of service points that meet customers where they are and deliver meaningful benefits to local communities.
