The Philippines is positioning itself at the center of Southeast Asia’s semiconductor race as it hosts the ASEAN-Integrated Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Convention and Exhibition (PSECE) 2026, a regional gathering aimed at strengthening supply chains, attracting investments and accelerating technology cooperation.
The three-day event will be held from October 26 to 28 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, bringing together manufacturers, technology firms, policymakers, researchers, educators and industry leaders from across ASEAN and beyond.
Organized by the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. (SEIPI), PSECE 2026 gains added importance as the Philippines takes on the ASEAN Chair role, giving the country a platform to showcase its capabilities in one of the world’s most critical industries.
The centerpiece of the convention is the ASEAN Semiconductor and Electronics Forum (ASEF) 2026, which opens on October 26 with the theme “One ASEAN, One Semiconductor Future: Building Resilient and Sustainable Global Value Chains.”
The forum will tackle how regional integration, artificial intelligence-driven manufacturing and semiconductor-enabled technologies can help ASEAN remain competitive as companies rethink global production networks.
SEIPI President Dr. Dan Lachica said the expanded ASEAN focus reflects the industry’s need for deeper collaboration across borders.
“PSECE has always served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration within the semiconductor and electronics industry,” Lachica said. “By integrating a stronger ASEAN dimension, we aim to create more opportunities for cooperation that support innovation, talent development and sustainable industry growth across the region.”
The Philippines enters the event with a strong foundation as one of the world’s established electronics manufacturing hubs, supported by decades of experience in semiconductor assembly, testing and packaging. However, the country faces growing competition as economies seek to capture more high-value segments of the chip supply chain.
PSECE 2026 aims to move beyond discussions by generating investment opportunities, research partnerships, policy initiatives and workforce development programs.
The convention will feature executive forums, technical sessions, networking activities and an exhibition of emerging technologies from local and international companies.
As global companies diversify semiconductor supply chains, the Philippines is using its ASEAN leadership role to strengthen its pitch as a reliable technology partner, combining manufacturing expertise, skilled talent and regional connectivity.
