Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corp. has awarded Petron Corporation the contract to design, build, operate and maintain a new Jet A-1 fuel farm at the Bohol-Panglao International Airport to support the facility’s rising passenger numbers and flight movements. As the country’s largest oil firm, Petron earned the exclusive right to develop and manage the on-site fuel depot after topping a competitive bidding process. The project involves an estimated capital outlay of P340 million, covering a storage facility equipped with three tanks each holding 477 kiloliters of fuel. It is set for completion in the third quarter of 2027 and will be built and certified to meet the latest standards set by the Joint Inspection Group, the global benchmark for aviation fuel safety and handling.
Aldwin Uy, general manager of Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corp., said the deal marks a key step in modernizing the airport, noting that partnering with a recognized industry leader like Petron will deliver reliable, world-class fuel infrastructure that meets Bohol’s expanding aviation needs while keeping operations efficient and safe. The agreement also includes safeguards to future-proof services and protect airline partners: all facility rates will be regulated by ABAC, ensuring fair access and preventing unfair treatment even if more fuel suppliers enter the market later on.

He added that Petron will apply its long operational experience to ensure the fuel farm follows all required standards and delivers a safe, steady and seamless fuel supply chain. A dedicated local management team based in Tagbilaran has already been assigned to oversee construction and ensure the project stays on track and meets all requirements on schedule.
