Manila Water sets free August desludging for East Zone areas

Manila Water is calling on customers in its East Zone concession to join its scheduled August desludging activities, noting this helps protect public health and keep waterways clean. Regular removal of septic tank waste stops untreated sewage from contaminating drains, groundwater and rivers.

This month, teams will serve selected barangays across Antipolo, Rizal towns of Baras, Jalajala, Binangonan, Cainta, Taytay, Pasig, Marikina, Rodriguez, San Mateo, and parts of Quezon City. The service is free, done every five years, and collected waste is treated properly at three dedicated facilities before safe disposal. Affected households will get advance notice and are asked to make their septic tanks accessible on the scheduled date.

“Every participating household helps prevent pollution and build healthier communities,” said Manila Water communications chief Dittie Galang. The program is part of the company’s efforts to better sanitation and support environmental care.
