Globe Business boost financial institutions’ fraud defenses amid new anti-scamming law

As digital banking, e-wallets, and embedded finance transform financial access across the Philippines, Globe Business is equipping banks and financial firms with advanced, proactive security tools to meet requirements under the newly enacted Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA), or Republic Act No. 12010.

The law mandates Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)-supervised financial institutions to upgrade fraud detection, account verification, and security controls—shifting focus from reactive responses to stronger, operational resilience. Globe Business provides integrated solutions combining advanced API intelligence, cybersecurity frameworks, and frictionless authentication to help institutions comply without disrupting smooth customer experiences.

“The financial services industry continues to evolve rapidly, and institutions are expected to innovate while protecting customers from increasingly complex cyber threats,” said Glenn Estrella, Globe Business vice president. “Organizations need solutions that strengthen security without creating unnecessary friction. Globe Business is committed to helping our partners simplify compliance, protect their customers, and continue innovating with confidence.”

A key offering is G Verify, the company’s Silent Network Authentication service that uses mobile network intelligence to confirm user identities in the background—no one-time passwords required. This approach helps block SIM swap attacks, account takeovers, social engineering, and other digital fraud while streamlining logins and transactions for legitimate users.

Globe Business began developing frictionless authentication long before AFASA raised industry standards, first introducing Silent Network Authentication at the 2025 Asian Banking & Finance Forum. The full G Verify solution builds on that foundation to help institutions stay ahead of both regulatory and emerging cyber risks.

These capabilities were recently highlighted at the BFSI Philippines Summit 2026, where Globe Business shared insights and consulted with industry leaders on balancing cyber resilience, compliance, and customer experience.

“Building trust in every digital transaction requires security that works quietly in the background without disrupting the customer experience,” Estrella added. “By combining cybersecurity expertise, intelligent APIs, and trusted network capabilities, Globe Business helps financial institutions strengthen fraud prevention while supporting the next generation of secure digital services.”

As the country’s financial sector grows more integrated with everyday digital platforms, Globe Business remains focused on empowering institutions to build resilient, future-ready systems that uphold both security and service quality for all Filipinos.
