Meralco, led by Manuel V. Pangilinan, took home nine Excellence and Merit trophies at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards, marking another strong showing in the country’s top business communication honors.
The winning programs spanned customer service, corporate social responsibility, research and analytics, animal welfare, public safety, digital transformation, and innovation—reflecting the utility’s broad focus on purposeful engagement.
Fresh from being named Company of the Year last year, Meralco earned a repeat nomination for the top honor this year, underscoring its standing as a leader not just in energy but also in strategic communication.
“Excellence in communication is essential to advancing real, substantive good. These awards validate our purpose-driven work and its impact on the communities we serve,” said Jeffrey O. Tarayao, president of the One Meralco Foundation.
Meralco vice president and head of corporate communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga added: “This recognition highlights how communication drives progress in the energy sector and supports nation-building. It motivates us to keep advancing initiatives that serve the public good.”
Organized by IABC Philippines, the Quill Awards are the nation’s most prestigious recognition of outstanding business communication that delivers results and creates positive social impact.
