Nearly half of Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are facing a talent crunch even as most plan to expand their workforce, prompting Jobstreet by SEEK to widen access to free digital recruitment tools for smaller businesses.
About 46 percent of MSMEs face a talent crisis, while 72 percent plan to expand their workforce, according to a survey by Boston Consulting Group and the Department of Trade and Industry.
Jobstreet is responding by bringing recruitment support directly to MSME communities through business talks, summits, and capacity-building activities with local governments and business groups under its “Building Better Teams. Growing Businesses” initiative.
Its BizTalk sessions with the local economic development offices of Pasig and Quezon City provided entrepreneurs with guidance on recruitment, digital tools, entrepreneurship, and government assistance.
Pasig entrepreneurs were introduced to free Jobstreet Lite job advertisements and AI-assisted job-ad creation, giving smaller businesses simpler ways to reach potential hires. Quezon City employers learned how digital recruitment and local business collaboration could help address workforce requirements.
Jobstreet also partnered with PH Business Network for Negosyo Forward: READY, SET, GROW, where entrepreneurs received one-on-one consultations covering finance, workforce management, labor compliance, banking, intellectual property, digital transformation, and business registration.
The company also joined Quezon City MSME Week 2026 and the Go Negosyo MSME Summit to introduce more business owners to its free hiring tools and employer resources.
“Growing a business starts with having the right people behind it,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK managing director for the Philippines.
She said the company aims to make hiring more accessible and help Filipino businesses grow with the right talent.
For MSMEs, the mismatch between expansion plans and available talent can become a growth constraint. By lowering the cost and complexity of recruitment, Jobstreet said it hopes to help smaller businesses compete for workers in an increasingly tight talent market.
