Nissan is reinforcing its commitment to the Philippine market as it prepares to broaden its electrified vehicle lineup, giving customers an early look at two upcoming models at Nissan DARE ahead of their availability on Nov. 6.
The Japanese automaker on Sept. 1 previewed the all-new Nissan Navara Pro plug-in hybrid and the all-new Nissan Primera EV, underscoring a strategy of offering different technologies for different customer needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to electrification.
“The Philippines is an important market for Nissan, and we are committed to growing our business and creating greater value for customers,” said Shohei Yamazaki, chairperson of Nissan’s Management Committee for Japan and ASEAN.
Yamazaki said Nissan is drawing on its global footprint and strategic partnerships to bring products and technologies to markets faster while retaining the Japanese engineering, quality, and manufacturing strengths associated with the brand.
Masao Tsutsumi, president of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand, said the Philippines is also emerging as an increasingly important destination for vehicles produced through Nissan’s partnerships elsewhere in Asia.
“The Philippines is a very important market for Nissan,” Tsutsumi said, noting that the country is among the first export destinations for Nissan electrified vehicles produced through its China partnership.
Nissan Philippines President Yoshinori Kanazawa said the company’s strategy centers on matching its products with changing Filipino lifestyles and mobility needs.
“Our focus is not simply on bringing more vehicles to the Philippines, but on bringing the right vehicles and technologies to best meet the needs of our customers,” Kanazawa said.
The two-model preview at Nissan DARE reflects that approach, pairing the company’s established pickup heritage with its expanding electrification portfolio.
For Nissan, the showcase is also a signal of what lies beyond the two vehicles. Tsutsumi described the upcoming launches as “important milestones” for the brand’s Philippine operations.
“This is only the beginning, with more products, technology, and innovation to come,” he said.
