Kaban Hotel and Casino Boracay has opened at Station 0, adding a new inland tourism and entertainment destination to the island’s world-famous beach attractions.
The six-storey KABAN, which opened on Sept. 16, features an 88-room hotel, a 2,000-square-meter PAGCOR-licensed casino, seven dining concepts and a range of leisure facilities. It forms part of the 23-hectare master-planned development of Golden TW Realty and Development Corp. in Barangay Yapak.
The opening was marked by an outdoor LED reveal and ribbon-cutting attended by officials and community representatives from Aklan, the Municipality of Malay, Barangay Yapak and the wider Boracay community.
“As we open our doors, our greatest hope is not simply for KABAN to shine in Boracay but to help the island and its people shine even brighter on the world stage,” KABAN President and CEO Kevin Wong said.
The property brings hotel accommodations together with gaming, dining, wellness and entertainment under one roof. Facilities include Lamii All-Day Dining, SIGLA Spa, a pool deck, VIP lounge, Kids Playlab, lobby café and a Skybar overlooking the island.
KABAN said about 40 percent of its employees are from Aklan, underscoring its commitment to local hiring and community development. The project is also expected to create new business opportunities as tourism activity expands in the northern part of Boracay.
The development adds another dimension to Boracay’s tourism mix by offering visitors more activities away from the shoreline. It is designed to complement, rather than replace, the island’s established beach, dining and nightlife attractions.
KABAN takes its name from the Filipino word for “treasure chest,” reflecting the property’s theme of discovery and abundance. Its five-card star logo carries the destination’s “Where Stars Win” identity.
Gaming is limited to guests aged 21 and above and is subject to responsible gaming rules. Opening promotions that began Sept. 16 offer millions of pesos in prizes.
The Sept. 16 opening serves as the property’s soft launch. A larger grand launch is scheduled for Oct. 11, when KABAN will showcase more of its dining, culture, hospitality and entertainment offerings.
