The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recognized six distinguished institutional partners across Mindanao during the Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony held on September 28, 2026, wrapping up the central bank’s 2026 nationwide appreciation series. This recognition follows earlier ceremonies held for North Luzon in July, Head Office and South Luzon in August, and the Visayas in September.
Awardees were chosen for their notable contributions in keeping cash circulating efficiently, expanding digital payment access and financial inclusion, fully rolling out the Paleng-QR Ph Plus program in their areas, running effective information campaigns that advance BSP priorities, and driving responsible progress in small-scale gold mining.
Monetary Board Member Romeo L. Bernardo acknowledged the partners’ direct role in the region’s strong economic performance, noting that five of Mindanao’s six regions grew faster than the national average last year, a success made possible through their shared efforts and steady support for BSP-led programs and advocacies. BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat emphasized that partners serve as the vital link between policy and real impact, explaining that meaningful change happens only when programs reach communities and improve daily lives—a difference these awardees make real through their deep understanding of local needs and practical, people-centered solutions.
The institutions recognized this year are East West Banking Corporation – Cagayan de Oro, Landbank of the Philippines – Cash Operations Unit Davao, Landbank of the Philippines – Cotabato Branch, Regional Development Council – Caraga, Bangsamoro Information Office, and the Provincial Government of South Cotabato. Launched in 2004, the annual appreciation ceremony honors organizations that stand alongside the BSP to uphold its core mandates: safeguarding price stability, strengthening financial system stability, and building a secure, efficient national payments and settlements network.
