The Jollibee Group is bringing its inclusive employment initiative for qualified senior citizens and persons with disabilities to the Visayas region for the first time, through a new partnership with the Cebu City Government. Under this collaboration, eligible seniors and PWDs will take on customer relations roles across 36 participating branches of Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King, marking a key milestone in the program’s national reach.
Joseph Tanbuntiong, Chief Executive Officer of Jollibee Group Philippines and Head of Jollibee Brand Global, said launching the program in Cebu City is a vital step toward making fair work opportunities accessible to more Filipinos everywhere. As the group grows and serves more communities, it aims to create meaningful roles for people who have both the ability and the desire to contribute, and he expressed gratitude to the Cebu City Government for helping bring this initiative to the Visayas for the first time.
This expansion places jobs closer to where qualified candidates live, helping them stay connected, productive, and engaged in their own neighborhoods. The partnership follows the same proven model used in earlier agreements with local government units in the National Capital Region. The Cebu City Government will assist with applicant intake and profiling, health clearances, training, information sharing, and ongoing monitoring, while the Jollibee Group will provide orientation, skills training, and free assistance in opening payroll bank accounts for those hired.
Launched in 2019 and aligned with the group’s sustainability agenda “Joy For Tomorrow,” the inclusive employment program has already benefited more than 1,000 seniors and PWDs nationwide. In 2025 alone, 451 individuals were newly hired—166 deaf-mute employees and 285 senior citizens—who fill customer-facing positions and help create welcoming spaces for all visitors. The Cebu City partnership carries this commitment forward into the Visayas, advancing the group’s goal of building workplaces where more people can participate, contribute, and thrive.
