Smart scores zero dropped calls in latest NTC Metro Manila checks

Smart Communications has achieved a perfect zero percent call drop rate in the National Telecommunications Commission’s most recent service quality tests across Metro Manila, marking a major milestone in reliable voice service for subscribers. The result easily clears the regulator’s required standard of less than 2 percent call drop ratio, meaning calls connect and stay connected consistently for users. For customers, this translates to clearer, uninterrupted conversations whether for personal calls, work updates, or emergency communications—no more frustrating cut-offs that waste time and cause inconvenience.

Beyond reliable voice service, the tests also recorded peak mobile broadband speeds reaching 377 Mbps along San Francisco Street in Mandaluyong City. Smart also posted strong results in separate recent assessments. In the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s September 2026 Oplan Bantay Signal report, it kept a “Good” overall network rating, topping the assessment with an average download speed of 52.22 Mbps. It also marked five straight months with zero crisis cities nationwide, with all measured areas delivering speeds above 15 Mbps. Global connectivity firm Ookla also recently recognized Smart as having the best mobile video experience in the country for the first half of 2026.

Debbie Hu, First Vice President and Head of Network Build and Implementation at PLDT and Smart, noted the zero-percent result reflects reliable voice performance. She added the company stays fully committed to working closely with regulators, addressing any gaps, and continuously upgrading its network to deliver a more dependable mobile experience for all users.
